Bean Profile
Gatundu’s processing mill is part of Gitwe Farmer’s Cooperative Society, serving four villages in the area — and the cooperative has built a membership of over 900 producers since beginning in 1983. SL-28 and SL-34 make up most of the coffee grown, with just a small amount of Ruiri-11 mixed in. This is the Peaberry outturn from those crops. Peaberries are formed when a rounded bean develops instead of two flat beans inside a cherry. This is a delicious and unique coffee we’re excited to offer.
